The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, met with Sven Koopmans, the European Union Special Representative for the Middle East Peace Process, at the ministry’s headquarters on March 13.
The two officials discussed the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the resulting situation in the occupied Palestinian territories. They explored ways to increase efforts to establish a ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian actions.
Additionally, they examined the prospects of promoting international community efforts to find a permanent, fair, and final solution to the Question of Palestine. The goal of these efforts is to ensure the establishment of an independent Palestinian State on the borders of 1967, with Al-Quds as its capital.
“Productive meeting with Foreign Minister @AhmedAttaf_Dzin of #Algeria, a Security Council member. Agree on the top priority to end the humanitarian crisis and the fighting in #Gaza. Hunger can’t be a weapon of war. We also discussed options to achieve lasting regional peace,” Sven Koopmans posted on X after the meeting.
