According to the daily “Gazeta Wyborcza,” French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Poland this Thursday. He is scheduled to meet with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda during his visit.
The report states that Macron’s purpose for visiting Warsaw is to update the Polish leadership about his discussions over the weekend in Paris with US President-elect Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which took place during the opening of the Notre Dame Cathedral.
Warsaw and Paris maintain close relations, sharing several viewpoints on EU foreign policy, including a common opposition to the EU-Mercosur trade agreement. During a joint conference with Macron at the Elysee Palace last February, Tusk emphasised the importance of revitalising Poland’s relations with key European partners.
