On 13 March, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Aalto University will organise the Helsinki Roundtable on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and International Security at Aalto University. This event aims to gather international experts, decision-makers, and business leaders to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on global security.
AI is transforming societies, economies, and international relations, and it has significant implications for global security and strategic competition. The Roundtable will address these challenges and enhance cooperation among democratic countries.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will convene top experts, political figures, and business leaders to discuss the role of AI in security policy. The discussions will cover topics such as international security, the competitiveness of democracies, and the necessary research, investments, and regulations related to AI.
“Finland is at the forefront of AI. We have strong and innovative businesses, which, through their own example, show that human rights and democratic values can be respected in the development of AI. A human-centred approach is part of our high level of competitiveness, and we must increasingly make room for both,” stated Foreign Minister Valtonen.
The event will be streamed live on the Foreign Ministry’s YouTube channel(Link to another website.).
