Another example of how old Donald is a pathological liar

Office of President of Ukraine

Republicans against Trump (@RpsAgainstTrump) released a video on X to highlight how easily the new US President uses false claims. Yesterday, while on Air Force One, Donald Trump asserted that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was treated “rudely” in Kyiv and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was “unavailable to meet him.” However, contrary to Trump’s claims, President Zelenskyy met with Bessent on February 12, and both American and Ukrainian delegations spent considerable time in negotiations.

In fact, President Zelenskyy actually began the meeting by thanking the United States and the American people for their assistance and bipartisan support for Ukraine since the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion. Furthermore, he expressed Ukraine’s willingness to collaborate with Donald Trump’s administration to implement a “peace through strength” approach. A just and lasting peace requires real security guarantees for Ukraine.

“I am grateful to the President for his messages that he will support Ukraine and wants to stop this war. And I know he is a strong man, and I am confident he will push Putin,” Zelenskyy said on 12 February.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Scott Bessent talked about Ukraine’s resources and the economic security of its people. They worked on a document to establish an economic partnership between Ukraine and the United States.

“We will review this document and do our best to ensure that our teams reach agreement very quickly. We are eager to do so because the United States is our strategic partner. We will do everything to go over all the details,” the Ukrainian President emphasised.

Scott Bessent pointed out that this agreement should send a strong message of support from the US to Ukraine.

“I believe this document is important from President Trump’s perspective in resolving this conflict as soon as possible. We will provide guarantees of American assistance to the people of Ukraine. I believe this is a very strong signal to Russia about our intentions,” he stated.

However, Trump wanted to force Zelenskyy into a quick capitulation to Russia and secure ownership of 50% of Ukraine’s critical minerals, of an estimated value of 500 billion US dollars – as compensation for the support provided by the US until now.

The Ukrainian President couldn’t accept such a claim, infuriating Trump and leading him to his hysteric attack against President Zelenskyy and Ukraine.
