The number of antisemitic incidents in the Czech Republic sharply increased last year, reaching a peak in the final quarter of 2023 following the deadly Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7. The Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic (FJC) published the Annual Report on Antisemitism in the Czech Republic for 2023 on August 5, 2024. FJC reported 4,328 antisemitic incidents in 2023, a 90% increase from the previous year.

The report noted that the data may not cover all incidents and highlighted the underreporting of hate crimes due to various factors. While it cannot provide an exact proportion of the population with antisemitic attitudes, the report does highlight concerning trends and the social climate regarding anti-Jewish hatred.

Antisemitic violence is rare in the Czech Republic, and no attacks were recorded in 2023. However, there was a significant increase in antisemitic incidents in the last quarter of 2023, especially after a terrorist attack led by Hamas on October 7. The influence of disinformation platforms and activities of far-left and Islamism accelerated in 2020-2023. Anti-Jewish attitudes became more socially acceptable in 2023.
