From 11–13 November, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard, along with Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, and Jessica Rosencrantz, Minister for EU Affairs, will host Armenia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan.

“Armenia is an important foreign policy partner to Sweden and an interesting market for Swedish businesses. Sweden supports Armenia’s democratic reforms and resilience. I welcome Armenia’s ambition to deepen relations with the EU,” said Minister Malmer Stenergard.

Minister Mirzoyan’s visit will begin with a working lunch with the Swedish Foreign Minister, followed by separate meetings with Ministers Dousa and Rosencrantz.

The discussions are expected to focus on regional developments, bilateral trade, Swedish reform support to Armenia, and Armenia’s strengthening ties with the EU.

Sweden has significantly increased its reform support to Armenia, with total assistance tripling from 2021 to 2023. In 2023, this support amounted to almost SEK 149 million. During his visit, Mr. Mirzoyan will also meet with Speaker of the Riksdag, Andreas Norlén, and representatives from Swedish businesses.
