The EU Delegation in Kyrgyzstan hold a meeting with the Kyrgyz queer activists yesterday May 17. EU demonstrated that is a strong supporter of the rights of LGBTI persons all over the world.
This year’s theme for the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) – “Together Always: United in Diversity” – is a timely reminder that all people, regardless of who they are, whom they love, and how they see and define themselves, are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
Since 2014, when the Government launched several legal reforms, including an anti-gay propaganda law, LGBT people faced discrimination. The LGBT community experienced a nearly 300% increase in attacks, while were reported several cases of blackmailing by police officers.
