EU and China conclude close aviation partnership project

European Union

The European Union-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP), which was launched in 2016 and funded by the Service for Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) of the European Commission, will conclude its second phase with an official closing event hosted by the EU Delegation to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Beijing on 17 December 2024. Key stakeholders from various authorities and the aviation industry will attend the event, which aims to express firm hopes for continuing this successful cooperative framework.

In light of the rapid developments in the civil aviation sector, Europe and China are committed to continuing their cooperation in addressing regulatory challenges to ensure a safer, more connected, and greener future.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) manage the EU-China APP. Over its course, the project has organised more than 120 activities that facilitated the exchange of advanced aviation expertise from both European and Chinese regulators, as well as leading industry players, including aircraft and parts manufacturers, air operators, and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs), along with EUROCONTROL. The EU-China APP will remain a platform for these crucial discussions.
