Today, the Council has decided to extend the existing restrictive measures for an additional year until January 20, 2026. These measures target individuals and entities that support, facilitate, or enable violent actions by Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ).

All individuals and entities previously identified as responsible for financing Hamas and PIJ or for enabling their violent actions will remain on the sanctions list. Currently, there are 12 individuals and three entities under these sanctions.

Those listed are subject to an asset freeze, and the provision of funds or economic resources, whether directly or indirectly, to them is prohibited. Individuals on the list are also subject to a travel ban to the EU.

The EU reaffirms its commitment to international law and achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace based on the Two-State solution. This solution envisions the coexistence of two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living peacefully within secure and recognised borders. The European Union will continue collaborating with international partners to revitalise the political process towards this goal.
