Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman attended the third international scientific-expert conference, “Migration and Identity: Culture, Economy, State,” on Monday, November 11, 2024, in Zagreb. This two-day conference, organised by the Institute for Migration Research, focuses on the systematic and continuous interdisciplinary monitoring of all forms of migration and population mobility.

In his opening remarks, Grlić Radman emphasised that migration has been a part of every nation’s history since ancient times, contributing to their ongoing development. He noted that Croatia advocates for comprehensive and balanced migration policies and partnerships based on clear rules and shared responsibilities.

While at the conference, the minister congratulated the Institute on its 40th anniversary. He highlighted that the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs will continue actively supporting the Institute’s work through collaborations, projects, and events.

During the two-day conference, participants will engage in scientific panels and discussions covering key topics such as migration, diaspora, national identity, demographics, the labour market, and national minorities, including the Croatian national minority in European countries.
