The Director General of Foreign Policy, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Ambassador Rui Vinhas, received his counterpart at the African Union, Ambassador Fathallah Sijilmassi, on April 11 in Lisbon for bilateral political consultations.
During the consultations, which took place at the Palácio das Necessidades, bilateral relations between Portugal and the AU were discussed in depth.
Also, some of the main topics on the regional and international agenda, namely conflict situations on the African continent and the invasion of Ukraine.
“Intense and fruitful political consultations in Lisbon with @FSijilmassi, DG of the African Union. Deep dive on bilateral relations between Portugal and AU, EU/AU relations, conflict situations in Africa and the war in Ukraine,” tweeted Rui Vinhas.
