On the margins of the G7 Summit President of the European Council Charles Michel held a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The parties discussed the course of implementation of the European Commission’s recommendations for opening negotiations regarding our country’s accession to the European Union.
At the meeting, particular attention was paid to the export restrictions on Ukrainian agricultural products by some European Union states and the inadmissibility of their extension after June 5.

Zelenskyy and Michel discussed concrete ways of implementing the Ukrainian Peace Formula and consolidating world support for Ukraine’s peace initiative.
“Historic moment with President @ZelenskyyUa at @G7. Side by side to firmly defend human dignity, Ukrainian freedom and universal values. United to do more, faster and quicker. The leaders coordinated their positions on the eve of the G7 Summit,” tweeted EU’s Council President.
