The General Assembly of the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC) upgraded Taiwan from “Co-operation Partner” to “Associate Member,” opening a new milestone in the interaction between Taiwan and European scientists.
The National Science and Technology Commission (NSTC) and Academia Sinica have collaborated to promote Taiwan-European partnerships in molecular biology. Importantly, Dr. Fiona Watt, president of EMBO, provided crucial support.
In 2012, the EU and Taiwan signed agreements with the European Molecular Biology Conference (EMBC) and the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) to facilitate international exchanges for Taiwanese scientists.
