Zuzana Čaputová, President of the Slovak Republic, addressed the GLOBSEC 2023 Bratislava Forum on Monday, 29 May, with a clear message: “We are far more resilient than expected.”
As leaders gather in Bratislava, Slovakia to discuss how to overcome global fragility, Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová, delivered a special address at the opening of the GLOBSEC 2023 Forum, saying solidarity and unity improved our position – among the EU and NATO members. She also pledged Slovakia will ensure that no Ukrainians remain left in the occupied territories (such as Yahidne), and those who committed crimes will be held accountable.
The President stressed that in order to prevail “we need to stay the course – continue what we are doing and do it better.”
In her speech, she also said we should enforce already existing legislation and be ready to strengthen it if needed to prevent the spreading of lies and propaganda. At the global level, we should press the owners of social media to control the content and take more responsibility.
The 18th edition of GLOBSEC’s annual Bratislava Forum takes place from 29 – 31 May, attended by 1200 leaders from over 60 countries, including 11 heads of state and government from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and beyond.
